More Storyboard Fun!

Lately about 80% of the work I do is storyboarding for advertisers.  I'm extremely fortunate to have a rep, so I don't have to do any footwork to get the work.
This type of work can be frustrating; the deadlines can be brutal, but it's always great drawing practice and keeps me on my toes.
The key to these things is speed.  There's rarely any thinking time involved (lucky for me), and sometimes there's hardly room for quick sketches before going to finish. Oftentimes I get a call in the early afternoon and need to have finished art by 5.  Yikes!  Or, I've gotten calls after business hours for a job that has to be done in the morning.  The faster you are, the more sleep you get.  Plus, advertisers love when an artist can make changes on the fly knowing they won't have to wait long.

These next few are for a brand of stop smoking lozenges.
(A lot of these are in the works, so I can't mention the product's names....)

Some on my hard drive I don't remember doing, much less what the product was!

These next few are for an upcoming campaign for a *ahem* particular brand of booze.
Again, I can't mention the product, but I can say that it tastes terrible and produces a nasty hangover!

This is another one I don't remember doing!  Aah!

Nice work! What the heck is that little curvy lighter looking thing that explodes household items? Posted by Alex on March 19 at 4:01 PM
That's the packaging the anti-smoking lozenges come in, a little plastic tube thing. The little bullet is one of them shooting out. The metaphor is that these little pills destroy all the things that tempt smokers. Posted by Ed on March 20 at 9:46 AM

Really nice work Ed! Some of the color renderings are really great! I notice you mix your styles sometimes-Is that by art direction or your own whim? What's the difference in rate/ time between b&w and color detail? PS Is that chewing tobcco stains on his face? PPS you can't be talkin bout Moosehead....right?
