Sketchbook Samples!

I am finishing up a new portfolio to send off, and for the first time I'm including sketchbook drawings.

To be fair, I cleaned up some so they aren't tooo sketchy (probably defeating the purpose), but going through old sketchbooks and picking and choosing what to show has been interesting.

I'm not one to show off sketchbooks.  I always saw these as too personal to have people flip through.  I wanna finish drawings so they're shiny and neat before they get shown off.  That, and I never really thought my raw drawings were ever all that great (especially after my friends Steve Silver and Joe Bluhm, two of the most talented artists I know, PUBLISHED sketchbooks!).  But, I'm starting to learn to trust myself and my abilities (and experience), and to celebrate the creative process all the way through, not just see sketching merely as a means to an end.
